We were founded in 1873 in Oxford, Mississippi, by three young women who were unable to go home during a Christmas holiday. Together they formed a club, rooted in education and service, that now has more than 230,000 members.
Since 1873, Delta Gamma has grown into one of the largest Greek women's organizations with collegiate chapters throughout the United States and Canada and alumnae living worldwide.
Built on a foundation of fostering high ideals of friendship, promoting educational and cultural interests, a true sense of social responsibility and developing the best qualities of character, Delta Gamma Fraternity is a women's organization with more than 210,000 initiated members.
Founded in 1873, in Oxford, Mississippi, by three young women, the letters Delta and Gamma were chosen to represent "Do Good." It remains the motto of the Fraternity and a reminder each day of the promises we made to our sisterhood.
If you are a sister we invite you to learn about the many programs and opportunities we offer our members and if you are a visitor, we invite you to learn about our rich history, our bonds of friendship and the values that Delta Gammas, worldwide, strive to live each day.
