Council Comment | Spring 2026

In April, the Delta Gamma Fraternity Council gathered at Executive Offices in Columbus, Ohio, for our final full in-person meeting together of the 2024-26 biennium.

As always, our time included meaningful work, thoughtful discussion and some fun. We celebrated Natalie’s birthday, enjoyed a candle-making outing and continued what has somehow become a trademark of this Council term: filming Delta Gamma videos starting with the familiar phrase, “We’re rolling…” before bursts of laughter inevitably follow. Looking back on this biennium, we are grateful for the relationships built around the Council table.

Council received updates and presentations from many staff and volunteer teams, on topics including: standards, risk prevention and events, Convention planning and a staff update highlighting progress and accomplishments from across the Fraternity. A major theme throughout: staff and volunteers working collaboratively to strengthen member support, improve systems and respond to the evolving needs of our chapters and members.

One especially exciting update was the chapter viability and recruitment health tool developed by the membership team and the Collegiate Recruitment Committee. Building on work first introduced to Council last year, this enhanced tool uses data to help identify trends earlier and provide more proactive support to chapters, helping us to better understand chapter health and respond earlier with meaningful support and resources.

Council also approved a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy, which provides guidance for staff, volunteers, officers and members around the responsible use of AI tools, particularly around ritual, sensitive Fraternity business and member data privacy. The policy is intended to help the Fraternity approach emerging technology thoughtfully while continuing to prioritize the care and protection of our members and organization.

Finally, Council voted to expand the responsibilities of the Volunteer Development Committee (VDC) to include the Fraternity Director appointment process. Mirroring the committee’s work with regional Leadership roles, the VDC will develop and present a slate of candidates for Council’s final approval. This move creates greater consistency and transparency within the Leadership selection process.

This will be the final Council Comment from the 2024-26 Fraternity Council. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve Delta Gamma and our members during this biennium. As we prepare to gather at Convention, we remain committed to helping build a Delta Gamma where belonging is universal, change is embraced and our bonds grow stronger every day. Thank you for your trust, your engagement and the spark you bring to our sisterhood.
