A Letter from the Fraternity Executive Director

Sisters, 

I’m still riding the high from Convention. If you were with us in Dallas-Fort Worth, you know exactly what I mean. If you weren’t, I hope you felt it anyway, because this biennium belonged to all of us. 

Here’s a snapshot of what we built together: 16,341 new members pledged, a 16% jump over the last two years. Two new chapters welcomed, Miami and Northeastern. A 15% increase in women initiated. Numbers are nice, but the real story was in the room. One sister told us Convention “reminded me why I chose and still choose Delta Gamma.” Another said she left “feeling inspired and excited about the year ahead.” That’s the energy I want us to carry into this new academic year. 

Which brings me to my word for the year: Intention. 

I keep coming back to it. Every meaningful thing that happened this biennium, the policy changes, the new initiates, the quiet moments of connection at Convention, started with someone being intentional. Intentional about listening. Intentional about showing up for a sister who needed it. Intentional about doing the work even when no one was watching. This year, I want us to lead with that same intention, with our members, in our friendships and in how we show up for each other. 

So, here’s where we’re pointing that energy next. 

Act with Intention launches this fall: ten member enrichment programs chapters can choose from, covering everything from career confidence to courageous conversations. Real skills, real connection, built right into the weekly meeting. 

Lifetime Leadership Program is brand new for alumnae: small cohorts, quarterly virtual sessions, real growth. Applications close August 16, and I’d love for you to be part of the first group. 

And Connected for Good is back this summer with a resume workshop, a negotiation seminar and forums featuring sisters doing incredible things in tech, medicine and higher ed.
