Delta Gamma is proud to offer an invitation to membership for select women who are interested in joining our sisterhood after their collegiate years through our Alumna Initiate Program.

Join Delta Gamma as an Alumna Initiate

An alumna initiate enjoys the full privileges of alumnae membership. They may serve the Fraternity and Foundation in any capacity, and they are expected to be a participating alumna by choosing an avenue of involvement suited to them – such as joining an alumnae group or supporting a collegiate chapter.

About the Program

The Alumna Initiate Program involves forming a connection with a local alumnae group, collegiate chapter or number of members over several months. During that time, the candidate should expect to attend group events and put together an application packet for submission to our international Council. Once approved, an alumna initiate candidate will participate in initiation with a collegiate chapter.

How The Process Works

A candidate or current Delta Gamma, acting as a sponsor, will first contact Alumnae Services at Executive Offices to express interest in alumna initiation by emailing alumnaedept@deltagamma.org or calling 614-481-8169.

The candidate should then develop a relationship with an alumnae group, collegiate chapter, or a number of individual members to become familiar with the activities, history, and values of Delta Gamma. This also allows current members a chance to get to know the candidate.

The alumna initiate application, required letters and endorsement for membership should then be submitted to Alumnae Services at Executive Offices. Staff will send a completed application packet to the Council approved committee for final approval.

The Fraternity Council approved committee will make the final decision to extend an invitation for membership to the candidate.

The alumna initiate candidate should respond with her acceptance and payment of the appropriate fees.

The sponsor will arrange for and implement alumna initiate education with the candidate prior to Initiation.

Initiation is held at the time of the next regular collegiate Initiation ceremony at the chapter of her choosing.
