Qaitlyn Ross, Omega-Wisconsin | Collegiate Advisory Board

Hi everyone! My name is Qaitlyn, and I’m a Fall 2022 initiate of the Omega chapter at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. As I look ahead to graduating this May, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on my time in Delta Gamma and what I’ve been able to give back to the fraternity.

I loved my time serving on JCMT and CMT, attending the Lewis Institute, and all of the smaller moments in between that have made me a better leader, chapter member, and sister. However, serving on the Collegiate Advisory Board has been completely different from each of these past experiences, and I am so grateful for how this opportunity has changed my perspective.

What I appreciate most about CAB is the ability to come together with collegiate women from all over the country and talk about common successes, challenges, and new ideas from our chapters to improve the membership experience. We all want DG to be the best it can and for our members to have the most positive experience possible. So much more gets accomplished in these conversations where multiple different view points – small chapters vs large chapters, different leadership structures, varying campus culture around greek organizations – can come together and find common ground. It has also been a great experience to connect with different members of fraternity leadership to provide insight from collegians on projects and policies that will impact collegians. I believe that the best leaders don’t just talk about the people they serve, they talk with them. It has been so inspiring to meet EO staff that are working just as hard as we are on the other side to keep our organization moving forward.

CAB is a great experience for anyone. Whether you’re looking for ways to get involved, have held past positions but are looking for something new, or are just curious to know if your chapter experience is the same as other collegians in the thick of it just like you are – the application is worth it! I look forward to finishing out my last few months of CAB and I can’t wait to welcome in the women taking it over next!
