A Delta Gamma Update from the Fraternity Executive Director

Happy New Year! As we step into 2026, I am reminded of how powerful individual action can be—especially within Delta Gamma. Each year, I choose a word that sets the tone for the months ahead, and for this year, the word that feels most fitting is initiative.

This new year invites each of us to take an active role in strengthening our sisterhood and advancing the vision set forth in Council’s Strategic Framework:

Anchored in sisterhood, we envision a Delta Gamma where belonging is universal, change is embraced and our bonds grow stronger every day.

Initiative encourages every member to lean into the three pillars that guide our future.

As we begin the year, I wish to share some opportunities and updates that we are proud to have. I hope you feel inspired to take initiative in your own way and help shape a bright year ahead for Delta Gamma.

Collegiate Leadership Collective
Our Collegiate Leadership Collective (CLC), a virtual training and networking for CMT officers, will take place on Saturday, January 24. Thanks to a dedicated team of more than 60 facilitators and staff, new officers will have the opportunity to learn, connect and feel empowered as they step into their roles.

Connected for Good
Our virtual Connected for Good series has already brought hundreds of members together to explore interests such as mahjong, journaling and navigating career moves with confidence, and it is all led by Delta Gamma sisters. Upcoming programs include an interview workshop, a needlepoint and crochet hour and a cookbook club. These events will be shared on our new website under News + Events. We hope you’ll join us!

Alumna Initiate Program Update
Delta Gamma is proud to welcome exceptional women into our sisterhood beyond their collegiate years through the Alumna Initiate Program. This opportunity allows qualified non-collegians to join Delta Gamma, support collegiate chapters or alumnae groups and build meaningful, lifelong connections.

Since the initiation of Sarah “Sallie” McGhee Isom in 1875, more than 1,500 women have joined Delta Gamma as Alumna Initiates. This fall marked a major milestone with a record-breaking 29initiates in a pilot Alumna Initiate Member Class, held in partnership with Alpha Upsilon–Southern Methodist and Gamma Zeta–Louisiana State. The celebration, which included 15 mothers and aunts of Alpha Upsilon-Southern Methodist members, took place during Family Weekend, making it especially meaningful. The Gamma Zeta initiation was also especially heartwarming as it included three mothers of current members. This spring, the pilot will expand to include a chapter participating in deferred recruitment.

Founders Day
This spring, members around the world will gather to celebrate Founders Day, providing a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with sisters and reflect on the bond we all share. We extend our thanks to Laurie Kight, Delta Kappa–South Florida, for writing this year’s Founders Day speech, which will be shared by sisters at celebrations everywhere. Stay tuned for information regarding our Virtual Founders Day if you are unable to attend a local event.

Archive Digitization Update
We are more than halfway through our archive digitization project! This year, we will begin receiving some of our physical artifacts that have been with HistoryIT for scanning and digitization. With the renovation of Executive Offices, we are excited to display and store our archives in a way that will preserve Delta Gamma’s history for generations to come. If you are in the Columbus, Ohio area, stop by for a tour! You can schedule a tour by contacting our archivist at archives@deltagamma.org

Building Renovation Recognition Opportunities
Last summer, we celebrated the reopening of Executive Offices. Throughout the new space, areas are available for recognition opportunities. We are excited to share that two offices have been recognized for Alpha Upsilon-Southern Methodist and the historical marker in the front garden has been recognized for Eta-Akron. Gamma Omicron-Indiana State has also recognized select areas through the new building. If you, your chapter or group of sisters are interested in naming opportunities, you can learn about those here.

Thank you for all you do to support and strengthen Delta Gamma. Here’s to a year of initiative, connection and continued growth.

ITB,
