Join your sisters at Convention and across the world to celebrate the conclusion of our Sesquicentennial Biennium and 150 years of lifelong sisterhood! The Regional Race is your chance to show pride for your Delta Gamma region while coming together as a sisterhood to do good. As we near the conclusion of Anchoring the Future: the Campaign for Delta Gamma, now is the time to ensure that the progress made today lasts a lifetime.
As each of Delta Gamma’s 8 regions engages in a spirited competition, our collective impact will empower the Foundation to continue fulfilling our mission. With a gift to the Foundation, you’ll provide support for sisters through scholarships, fellowships and grants. You’ll promote access and advocacy for people living with blindness or other vision loss through Service for Sight. And you’ll ensure the future of our sisterhood by empowering our women through transformative education and leadership opportunities.
Gifts can be made using the button below and honorees will receive immediate notification that you’ve made a gift in their honor. A $10 gift is requested for each tribute, but gifts of all sizes are welcome and will count towards your region’s progress in the Regional Race Giving Challenge! All gifts made before 7:30 p.m. Pacific time on Saturday, June 29 will count toward your Region’s total.
Ski for Light offers an international event at the beginning of each year. The Service for Sight grant was used to provide ski guide training to first and second-year guides and to offer scholarships to individuals who could not otherwise attend the event. The scholarships to new skiers make the idea of physical fitness available to people who have not had the opportunity to participate in sports previously.
"The Sisters Helping Sisters scholarship has allowed me to pursue my education with more ease. This scholarship is keeping me on track to graduate on time. I love that my sisters push me to do my best, both academically and socially. This scholarship is helping me become the best doctor I can be! I am thankful for the diversity, friendships and life skills Delta Gamma has given me.”
"Receiving assistance through the Crisis Grant has been a huge help to me and my family. Before being diagnosed with cancer, I was president of my chapter at Portland State and was working full-time. I have always been a very busy person so being diagnosed forced me to relax. With the help of the Crisis Grant, I was able to fully focus on my health and get better! Being apart of this sisterhood so much to me and getting support in this was is a huge relief of stress that is so appreciated."
Since 1989, the DG Foundation has granted more than $200,000 to Seedlings Braille Books for Children to provide free and low-cost braille books to children with vision loss so they can develop the literacy skills needed for success in school and life. Luca (pictured), age 6, shared, "I have been learning to read. I love finding braille on the pages of my books and when my mommy reads to me, I follow along!"
"Receiving this scholarship will provide me with numerous opportunities and advantages that will significantly impact my educational journey and personal development. The financial freedom will enable me to participate more fully in Delta Gamma and my other student organizations enriching my overall college experience and fostering personal growth. This award is a difference-maker for affording the education I need."
Support from a Service for Sight grant to Southeastern Guide Dogs helped place Duke with his guide dog, Tucker. Duke had doubts about using a guide dog over a white cane, but his braille instructor advised him, “A cane doesn't put its head on your knee and let you know it loves you. It doesn't help you across the street. Give it a chance." Tucker's sound judgment has already saved Duke from being hit by a car. Duke shared, "He showed me that I need to have patience and slow down! I have my independence back."
"Receiving a graduate fellowship allows me to pursue my career to become a dietitian so I can help people with their health using food and nutrition. Healthcare can be very hard to access in this country, so I really want to make healthcare and nutrition accessible to a larger group of people. It is important for donors to ensure programs like this continue to exist so everyone can have opportunities to pursue their desired careers and hopefully make our society a better place."
