Delta Gamma has one of the strongest academic assistance programs in the Greek world and you can be a part of it! Each year, the Foundation awards more than 200 scholarships and fellowships to members of Delta Gamma. Wouldn’t you feel proud to know that you helped just one Delta Gamma realize her full potential?
The Delta Gamma Foundation graciously accepts donations of any size, but funding a scholarship or fellowship comes with distinct benefits of its own. For example, as a sponsor, you are able to name your academic award. You may choose to honor or memorialize a special person or pay tribute to your chapter or alumnae group. You may also designate that the award be given within a specific collegiate chapter, region or state.
How can I help? The Foundation’s academic assistance program has plenty of contribution options. Here’s specifically what it takes to make a difference of your own:
A scholarship is awarded to a deserving undergraduate. Cost of sponsorship: $1,000.
A fellowship is awarded to a graduate student, helping her reach her personal and professional goals. Cost of sponsorship: $2,500.
An endowed scholarship ensures that every year an outstanding undergraduate will receive a financial award.
An endowed fellowship ensures that every year a member pursuing a graduate degree will receive a financial award. Endowed scholarships or fellowships may be funded in a variety of ways: in a lump sum, in multi-year installments or through a planned gift.
If your collegiate chapter, your alumnae group or you as an individual want to sponsor a Delta Gamma Foundation Scholarship or Fellowship to be awarded in the 2010-2011 school year, the funds must be received by December 31, 2009.
Any funds donated for scholarships and fellowships after this deadline will be used for the following school year. The selection of scholarship and fellowship recipients is based on academic excellence and involvement in Delta Gamma, the campus and community.
Sponsoring a scholarship or fellowship can be an individual effort or that of an alumnae group, a collegiate chapter, a house corporation or even an entire region. Regardless of how big or small the group of givers or how much they donate, all scholarship and fellowship sponsors can be assured that they have made a difference in the life of a Delta Gamma.
