The
Ruth Billow Memorial Fund was created to honor
Ruth Billow, Eta-Akron (pictured to the right). Blinded in a childhood accident, Ruth was instrumental in the adoption of
Work for the Blind as the Delta Gamma international philanthropy project. This fund offers educational grants and personal aid grants to Delta Gamma members. The fund gives special consideration to members who are blind or visually impaired. The fund also offers scholarships and fellowships to Delta Gammas pursuing degrees in the field of sight preservation or assistance to persons who are blind or visually impaired.
The Ruth Billow Memorial Fund offers the following grants to qualified applicants:
Ruth Billow Memorial Education Fund- Financial assistance for Delta Gammas who are pursuing professional training in the areas of working with persons who are blind or visually impaired, or in sight preservation.
- Financial aid for Delta Gammas who are blind or visually impaired.
Ruth Billow Memorial Personal Aid- Financial grants for Delta Gammas in order to restore or retain their sight.
- Financial grants for Delta Gammas experiencing financial difficulties due to their responsibilities directly related to dependents who are blind or visually impaired.
