Lions Clubs, InternationalLions Clubs, International have been recycling eyeglasses for more than 70 years. There are currently 11 licensed Lions eyeglass-recycling centers in the world. Lions volunteer their services to prepare the eyeglasses for use. At the Lions recycling centers, volunteers inspect and clean each pair, determine and record prescription strength, place them in protective pouches, sort and store according to prescription, maintain inventory of processed eyeglasses and provide eyeglasses to Lions eye care missions and other organizations.
