Alumnae Groups

Every initiated member of Delta Gamma is eligible to participate in an Alumnae group. Chapters, associations and hope groups are organized by members who live in the same city or general locale.

An alumnae chapter exists by virtue of a charter from the Fraternity. It elects officers and sets up bylaws, dues and procedures in accordance with the Fraternity Constitution. Information about forming a chapter, association or hope group may be obtained from regional officers or from Executive Offices.

In order to qualify as a chapter or association, an alumnae group must meet certain standards of size of membership, hold a prescribed number of meetings each year, pay annual or association dues, and pay annual per capita dues for each member. A chapter sends a voting delegate to Convention; an association does not.

Hope groups are smaller organizations of perhaps four or more alumnae who work toward becoming an association or chapter. Dues for individual members of the group are paid directly to Executive Offices. These groups serve primarily as a contact for new alumnae who wish to maintain Fraternity friendships. There are no specific requirements for meetings or reports.

Alumnae who live in areas where there are no organized Delta Gamma groups keep in contact with the Fraternity primarily through the ANCHORA. Every initiated member for whom there is a current address at Executive Offices receives each issue of the magazine as well as other mailings to the general membership, such as the Loyalty Fund appeal.
