Academic Standards

Academic Requirement:
Delta Gamma Constitution, Article XVII., Section 1:A member whose scholastic average falls below "C" at the end of a semester or quarter may not hold office and will be deprived of her vote in chapter meeting, except on the election of members, until she has regained a scholastic average of "C." With the approval of the regional collegiate specialist, the chapter bylaws may designate a higher scholastic requirement for officers and members.

Special Recognition for Achievement:
Delta Gamma is always looking for new ways to reaffirm our commitment to exemplary scholarship. Since 1988, the Delta Gamma Foundation has underwritten a program that rewards undergraduate members who earn a 4.0 grade point average. These special students receive a gold Lamp of Knowledge dangle in recognition of their scholastic excellence.

College offers a large spectrum of learning opportunities. Whether a woman learns from campus organizations, leadership positions or in the classroom, each experience contributes to a well-rounded individual. Delta Gamma encourages our members to become involved on campus and in the community to help foster personal development and enhance their Fraternity experience.

It is equally important for every member to contribute to the academic success of her chapter. Delta Gamma is committed to providing a positive scholastic environment that offers assistance, motivation and recognition.

As an individual chapter of Delta Gamma, there are many reasons why increased scholastic achievement is beneficial:

• Ability to win prestigious Fraternity and campus Awards.
• Increased chances of a stronger new member recruitment process through academic success.
• Positive Public Relations with faculty, campus and in the community.
• Chapter pride and satisfaction in being the best on campus!
